ALCAMP VOL. 1 IS OUT NOW

ALCAMP Vol. 1: The Album Born from Latin America’s First ALCAM Songwriting Camp

Summary
Six original songs, more than 30 emerging songwriters and composers, and 11 countries come together in ALCAMP Vol. 1, an album celebrating Latin America’s musical diversity and creative collaboration.

The Latin American Alliance of Music Authors and Composers (ALCAM) has released ALCAMP Vol. 1, a collaborative album born from the alliance’s first songwriting camp, held on 28 and 29 November 2025 in Atlántida, Canelones, Uruguay.

The album brings together six original songs created by more than 30 emerging songwriters and composers from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, El Salvador, Panama, Ecuador and Uruguay. Over two days by the sea, participants came together to share their voices, styles and creative perspectives, bringing a wide range of musical influences into a shared project.

Six songs shaped by collaboration

Under the direction and technical coordination of Uruguayan music producer Diego Matturro, the artists worked in simultaneous creative labs to compose and record six original songs. Spanning various genres, the tracks bring together elements of the diverse musical identities represented across Latin America.

For ALCAM, the camp was about more than bringing talented creators together. It was also an opportunity to build connections among songwriters and composers across the region and turn those connections into new collaborative work.

As the ALCAM board explained, the result is a fresh and diverse album that captures the unique energy experienced in Atlántida.

Strengthening connections across the region

ALCAMP Vol. 1 represents an important outcome of ALCAM’s efforts to strengthen connections within the Latin American music community. The alliance identifies the project as part of its broader work to champion collective management, copyright and the development of the region’s creative industries.

By creating opportunities for authors and composers to collaborate, exchange ideas and develop original music, initiatives such as ALCAMP help connect creative work with the wider music ecosystem.

CIAM welcomes initiatives that bring music creators together across borders and celebrate the diversity of musical expression. ALCAMP Vol. 1 offers an example of how regional collaboration can translate into original works and stronger connections between creators.
