Building connections with Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia creators at the Sofia CIAM ExCo meeting

CIAM held its Executive Committee meeting in Sofia, Bulgaria on May 29th and 30th following the 2025 CISAC General Assembly and the inaugural Creator’s Day, which was organised jointly with CISAC.

The Executive Committee meeting was focussed on setting up connections with creators from Central Europe, Eastern Europe and Eurasia. Creators from Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Moldova were invited to join the meeting and share their insights from their regions. The challenges they face are in many ways different than challenges in other parts of the world. They often involve difficulties in the recognition of copyright and payments to creators as well as enabling CMOs in those regions to do their job. 

Furthermore, the Executive Committee discussed AI, developments within the United States regarding AI, transparency in CMOs, updates from regional alliances of CIAM, and the upcoming CIAM General Assembly to be held in South Africa.
