CIAM Elections 2026 - Bjørn Christiansen
KODA
I am Bjørn Christiansen, electronic music artist and board member of Koda from Denmark. I want to join CIAM to cooperate about the future of music on a global scale. I want to listen, learn, contribute and take part in a change and transformation that seems inevitable. I am personally concerned about musics role in society both in present times and in the future. I feel we stand at a turning point where it is important to reflect on this role because we have opportunity to develop the cultural value of music while at the same time we are facing risks of this value to be lost. For me, this value of music lies in its ability and potential to be an important driving force to maintain, develop and preserve resilient culturally diverse societies worldwide. Societies that build on human empathy, embracing the different perspectives on things. Securing musical diversity could be our contribution to maintain such world, -a world where humans remain unique and musical expressions remain authentic and unpredictable. To ensure musical diversity, the whole network of music is important : the subcultures, the mainstream, the creators who dare to break out of the musical conventions and pave the way for totally new expressions. I hope for a change where professionalism and in-depth artistry can pay off for artists within a vast range of music expressions and practices. A change that makes space for risk-taking artists and music actors on many levels. For both new talent and established artists, such diversity in professional opportunities will provide the best circumstances to develop a healthy and relevant artist practice rooted in true and authentic creativity.
I hope that I can take part in a collective development in CIAM, where we take care of both the creators of music and the musics role in society. Our position as creators, our quest, our works are meaningful. We have a purpose that goes beyond remuneration. We are the carriers of music, a cultural communication that makes us all more aware, empathic, spiritual and resilient as a human civilization. Let us take care of the music together.

BIOGRAPHY
Bjørn (born in 1975) is a self taught electronic music artist, music teacher and designer of sounds and music for digital games. Rooted in the electronic club scene, Bjørn has been developing and challenging the rhythmic electronic music for more than 3 decades. Under aliases such as Bjørn Svin, Prinz Ezo , Cygnet Committee, Bjørn has made various releases on labels in Denmark and Europe. In the years 2020 - 2023 he was in the music grant committee of the danish art council and is currently sitting board member of KODA, -the Collective management organization in Denmark.
