World Economic Forum on Africa with Pan-African Composers’ and Songwriters’ Alliance

The Pan-African Composers’ and Songwriters’ Alliance (PACSA) was invited to speak at the World Economic Forum on Africa in Kigali, Rwanda.

In front of senior government officials including the Minister of Trade and numerous renowned creators, PACSA Executive Committee member Rev. Chimwemwe Mhango introduced the organisation and explained its vision for improving the creative industries in Africa. He described opportunities and accompanying challenges that global digitalisation has brought before calling upon African governments to empower local author’s societies as a driver of development across the entire sector.

PACSA’s vision was warmly received by the audience, which was excited by the prospect of transforming Africa’s creative industries through effective transparent management and government support.
